Dubai family photograph shoot

I had the pleasure to meet a lovely family recently in the central of Dubai high up in a high rise with a beautiful view over Dubai.
When the mum booked she said I want to have my baby girl photographed in a basket but I have loads of baskets so thats ok you don't need to bring any. I brought all my photography props anyway to the photography shoot as I always do and that was a good thing. The new born was actually 4 weeks old already and had grown out of all the baskets the mum had thought she could fit into. Thankfully I have many baskets in different sizes so there was no problem fitting her in one of mine :)

I just love this photograph above it just shows you how children naturally are and behave! :)

Big brother is scratching his head about what his little sisters are doing, middle sister is poking the baby sister in the eye while she is screaming away! Love it! Maybe not an image to frame and give to your grandparents but definitively one to keep. It will make a very funny Christmas Card for instance. 

Don't worry I also captured some lovely ones of the three of them looking at me. But I personally like this the best it tells a story lol.

Dubai Beginner Photography Workshops

Announcing The first Beginners Photography Workshop of 2013.
I have received so many requests lately for when I am starting new beginners photography workshops so I sat down the other day to work out suitable dates. Well I have now gotten the dates confirmed for the first one for 2013.
If you have your own DSLR and are wondering a bit about what all those buttons are all about then this course is for you. I will teach you how to stop photographing in Automatic mode and how to use the Creative modes on your camera, such as Aperture, Shutter speed and Manual.
The first Beginners Photography Workshop in Dubai has the following dates for 2013:
20th of January 10.00 -12.00, at Al Areesh Club, Festival City
27th of January 10.00-12.00, at Al Areesh Club, Festival City
3rd of February 10.00-12.00 on location TBA
Total of max 4 pax in each workshop so that I have time to help all of you with your camera. Price: AED 1,200 per person

Last weekend I photographed a newborn baby boy and yesterday I was busy photographing an event as well as business portraits. Tomorrow I will photograph a new mum to be. I love that my job keeps me on my toes and never becomes boring and mundane.

Dubai Beach Photography Shoots

The weather is now finally getting nice and comfortable for outdoor photography shoots here in Dubai.

I can tell this by that my calendar is getting booked up quickly for outdoor Christmas Photography Shoots.

Beach shoots is on the top of everyones Christmas lists it seams this winter! :-)

I can say that the best hour to photograph on the beach is 07.00 in the morning so you and your family need an early start but it is well worth it because the light is so beatiful then.

The golden hour I believe is only 40 minutes long it is gone by the time it is 07.40

This photography shoot we started at 08.00 and that is a little bit too late. We did also go to a nearby park when the sun was just too high up in the sky.

When you photograph on the beach you need to be careful so that everyone does not squint too much and on all the photographs. That is why starting early before the sun gets too high and too strong is a good idea, you get that golden shimmer without any problems of your subjects squinting.

If find yourself out photographing later on during the day and cannot find any open shade one of my tips that I do sometimes is that I count to 3. Everyone have their eyes closed and on 3 they open them. This however does not work on small children :-)

Dubai Teenage Photography Shoot

I had the pleasure to meet 8 young girls for a fun filled photography shoot. The birthday girl had gotten a photography shoot with her friends as a present from her parents. What better present is there??? Of course I am biased since I am the photographer LOL.
The girls had really planned the shoot nicely with coordinated clothes and everything: At that age (13) they are up to almost any suggestions you have which I thought was great fun as well as they were bubbling with ideas themselves of what we should do. It was hot but the girls were great I was sweating a lot but they hardly broke a sweat they are definitively used to cope with the heat better than I was. The mum was saying that they have PE outdoors at school so I guess they have to get used to the heat in order to cope with that.

A 12 month Photography Package

Hi,
 I am at the moment in the midst of putting together different Photography packages towards different target audiences/markets.
What do you guys think of this one for instance?
A 12 month Photography package.
1. the first one is a Maternity Photography shoot around 7-8 month pregnant.
2. second one Newborn Photography shoot either days or a few weeks old baby.
3. third one when the child is 6 months old.
4. the fourth one when the child turns 1 year old.
You then get the child's whole first year documented.

You get individual photographs as well as the opportunity to get a collage of photogrpahs.
The Collage you can order after the whole session is finished (after 12 months) it will be a collection of a few of the photographs to make one large photograph= collage. Choose from 4, 5, 6 or 8 photographs together and choose final Photograph size.
What do you guys think of this idea?

It is scheduled to arrive end of February... if everything goes according to plan. In the mean time I have time to come up with a few more tailored packages.
